We’re starting our best of 2011 a little earlier this year with a mixtape that gives you an idea of what we’ve been championing over the last 12 months. This is not the final list, but, an aperitif – the full list of remixes, originals and albums will be ready for mid-december.
The Warehouse Project has been a stable of Manchester’s infamous music scene since 2006 – but it’s not your average clubbing institution. It’s not even a club in the traditional sense. It takes over a warehouse setting for 12 weeks every year with meticulously organised parties from September to January with the world’s top music acts from the length and breadth of the electronic music spectrum.
The Warehouse Project has taken the UK & Manchester clubbing scene by storm over the last 5 years – well it’s the final run of events at the Store Street venue – and to this end the people behind the WHP have created one of the finest line-ups in the world.
Our favourite Italian duo Fare Soldi have just dropped their latest Capri Sonne mix and it’s a decent snap-shot of what you can expect to hear if you catch the duo when they’re DJ’ing during this summer, it’s jam-packed full of fun-loving dance music from disco to funk and everything else in between.
Villa have just dropped their latest mixtape and it features their new remix for Beni, a new remix from Joakim Bouaziz and his excellent remix of Mitzi – apparently, no tracklisting from what we can see.

Our man Burns is releasing his first EP of 2011 and it is sounding amazing, a cacphony of in-your-face electro and techno – were glad to see he’s moving his sound on in 2011.
Not a lot we really need to say about this line up only that our friends over at Parklife really have outdone themselves. Bravo. Now roll on 11-12 of June.
Creamfields is the only decent dance music festival left in the UK, Global Gathering is gradually fading into nonexistence leaving Cream and it’s lovely rolling fields to take the limelight – we for one much prefer it – only really because it’s less than 10 miles away from HBF Towers.
First mix from Villa for 2011 – it looks and sounds very good indeed, listen out for their remix of Adele’s ‘Rolling in the deep’ it’s one of our favourites at the moment.
Mighty Mouse are starting the New Year with a brand new Mix series, the aptly named ‘MouseCast’ is the first in what are sure to be an amazing mixes series, especially if last year’s collection are anything to go by – they always feature cool re-edits and will no doubt be showing off material from the new album in due course.
Bit of a blast from the past. but Breaks guru Future Funk Squad has just given away a 2011 re-edit of his amazing remix of Prodigy’s “Spitfire” – released on “Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned”.
Just a quick post to say Happy New Year, and to give you lot a lovely mix from new Belgium producer Mickey, who just so happens to be managed by the same guy who looks after fellow Belgium disco cohorts Aeroplane and Villa – so the signs are looking very good.
