We’ve got our hands on the video for Derelicht’s latest collaboration – this time it’s video artist Joelle who’s lending her talents to IO Sounds’ ‘Another Love’ for a release on 2020 Vision.

The video is a direct result of 3 months of experimentation with trapform, mir and fractal fields, and while we’re not entirely what that even means, it does make for a visually arresting video.

The song itself is a cracker, thumping and rumbling throughout, picking up pace halfway through with the introduction of an insistent groove.

The video complements the track perfectly; clearly designed to be context-relevant it’d be most at home blasted up the wall of a nightclub via projector, and left me wishing I could watch it that way myself. Instead I had to watch on my tiny laptop screen, with the deep blacks of the sparse celestial landscape forcing me to take note of how dirty my screen is.

The visuals dance, shift and change rapidly here; it’s vaguely hypnotic and there’s a pleasant juxtaposition between the talking glitch-halo and the delicate geometric rolling landscapes.

Try not to get too mesmerized though, otherwise when the on-screen techno-Mysteron tells you to GET ANOTHER LOVE you might phone your partner immediately and break up, like I did. Now all I’ve got is this giant bowl of cereal and a threadbare, all-too-revealing dressing gown.
