13. Homieland Vol.1
Homieland Vol.1 is Bromance Records’ first compilation and it’s also a forbearer for what is to come from the label and party group, setup by mercurial French producer Brodinski. Next year will see the producer release his first album, and you can get a fair idea of what it’ll sound like from the Homieland compilation. Bromance is creating the sort of excitement that surrounded Busy P’s Ed Banger records, and from the looks of it could be a new force is French electronic music. While there isn’t a great deal of difference between the Ed Banger’s sound and Bromance’s; its a continuation of that over-bearing, caustic sound that’s been sadly missing from the scene for too long. The compilations opener, ‘The New International Sound‘, sets the tone for the entire compilation which features a variety of artists including Canblaster, Sam Tiba, LOUISAHHH, and Brodinski. For the first time the label has laid down a cohesive mandate of its sound and if Brodinski can cement it with his debut album then we could be looking at another French electro revolution in 2015.
