Everything we’ve heard from Luxxury has been sublime — whether it’s Blake Robin’s iconic edits, his mesmerising live disco band, or his recent singles.
And his latest, a stunning ode to gentile disco pop, is no different as the man behind the moniker explains: “It’s the most honest song I’ve ever written, indeed when I sing it live I blush from revealing myself in public so shamelessly. But frankly I’m a bit of an exhibitionist, so it all works out.”
On keys once again is Robin’s frequent collaborator Billy Caruso, whose shimmering Rhodes line gives the otherwise upbeat dance song an aching, melancholy tone. Guest bassist Joe Karnes from Fitz and the Tantrums gives Robin’s original bassline a punch in the gut, elevating it to disco funk heaven.
