Andy Horsfield is back in charge of the legendary Global Underground mix series. During the late 90s and early naughties, the mix series helped define electronic music culture in the UK and beyond with forward-thinking mixes from electronic luminaries including Sasha, Solomun and Carl Cox.
After a four-year hiatus in 2010, the series returned last year with Solomun’s GU40, and for the 2015, Horsfield has line-up the imitable James Lavelle, who is bringing back his legendary alias UNKLESOUNDS for the 41st edition of the series.
“I’m really excited to be back at the helm of GU and looking forward to an exciting future for Global Underground and our artists,“ said Andy Horsfield.
“At a time when there’s a deluge of mediocre and disposable online DJ mixes its important for me to be able to give our artists an exciting and dynamic platform for their releases. We’re thrilled to present the world’s first ever Super-Deluxe DJ Mix Package with #GU41 James Lavelle’s Naples mix album.”
GU’s new super-deluxe collector’s package comes with a stunning 112 Page ‘Napoli Travelogue’ hard back travel book featuring the stunning photography from long-time GU photographer Dean Belcher. Alongside the deluxe version of the CD, there’s a collection of travel postcards, a rather fetching blood red luggage tag, which is all housed in a bespoke Red GU Box.
Lavelle’s Naples Mix features a plethora of exclusive new UNKLE material alongside album exclusive UNKLE remixes of artists including Queens of The Stoneage, Mark Lanegan Band, and Naples legends Planet Funk.
Check out the stunning collector’s edition below, and lookout for the release on October 30.
