2 Many DJs have today announced that they are starting their own label, dubbed Deewee, with the first release announced for September 19.
The first release comes from unknown act Klanken, which was recorded in the brother’s hometown of Ghent – could Klanken be a new alias from the duo?
Quite possibly. Details are still thin on the ground, but the duo have reportedly been hard at work on a Soulwax follow-up record, with some people in the know suggesting that it has been complete for quite sometime.
Since the last Soulwax album, 2 Many DJs have been touring non-stop, setup their own 24-hour radio station, Radio Soulwax, and have been touring their vinyl-only Despacio Soundsytem to rave reviews, which touches down in London again this weekend.
Whatever happens we could be looking at the return of two of dance music’s hardest working DJs, who haven’t released a new single since 2005’s ‘NY Excuse’, and a new album since 2005’s ‘Nite Versions’.
Update: It looks as if the duo played a Klanken track during their Radio 1 Despacio mix here. Listen to the mix here.
Tracklist
A1 – Drie
B1 – Twee
Deewee will release Drie / Twee on September 19, 2015.
