‘Rue De Rome’ is the second single taken off Munk’s critically acclaimed album, ‘The Bird and the Beat’ which we reviewed a couple months and loved every second of it – the first proper summer album of the year.
‘Rue de Rome’ is a dirty 70s styled street funk house track, reminiscent of the early 90s productions from Cassius and Motorbass. Sleazy French vocals and a heavy bass guitar line give the track a unique ‘soul’ feel.
This stellar package features remixes from Mickey Moonlight (Ed Banger), Black Strobe, COPYSHOP (Bear Funk), new Gomma artist Cecile (who recently did a remix for Vampire Weekend that was described by Erol Alkan as “the absolutely perfect remix”) and upcoming French techno kids Nasser.
