Eelke Kleijn delivers a progressive masterclass on ‘Rubicon’

Eelke Kleijn - Rubicon

When most producers start out they understandably try and mimic their heroes, and once they’ve done that successfully they can then begin to really branch out and really find their sound.

For Eelke Kleijn’s latest he’s clearly been inspired by the progressive artistry of Eric Prydz, and to be fair he’s totally nailed that Prydz aesthetic down to a tee as his latest is both propulsive and serene in equal measure.

It’s going to be interesting to see what Dutch producer can cook up in future because ‘Rubicon’ is flawless on a production level but it kinda just comes across as a clone, albeit a very good one; it just lacks a bit of originality.
