Lo-fi house poster boy Ross From Friends has remixed Chelou’s viral hit ‘Halfway To Nowhere’. Chelou is mysterious figure who is a bit of a lone wolf who’s so far managed to keep his true identity under wraps.
Last week, we gave you some hot takes about lo-fi burgeoning relevance and Ross From Friends is a one of the genre’s vanguards.
Cheluo’s original was produced by Maya Jane Coles and featured artwork from renowned contemporary illustrator Polly nor.
“How could I resist having a track remixed from the best named artist in music right now,” explains Chelou on why he wanted Ross From Friends to take on the remix.
His remix is a classic lo-fi fare; you’ve got the perforated kick drums, the soulful chords and an intergalactic synth solo that all combine for a swashbuckling cut of lo-fi house.
