Premiere: Moscoman’s ‘Pirate Of The Lost Ark’ is an ode to quirky dance music

Moscoman must be a bit of a workaholic as he decided to release a new EP every month for an entire year, with each EP being released via the Berliner’s Treisar imprint. He’s ever gone to the trouble of naming each EP already — clearly living Germany has rubbed off on him a bit.

We’ve got the first play of the producer’s excellent — if a little odd — ‘Pirate Of The Lost Ark’, which is taken from a three track EP, dubbed ‘Snake & Pygmy’.

‘Pirate Of The Lost’ is a quirky-as-hell cut of low-slung house that’s kinda sounds like a track that Salvidor Dali would have made if he had been musician and not a painter.

Featuring Moscoman’s trademark gloopy basslines, rolling snare drums and swirling synths all mantled in mind-bending effects, it’s not the sort of track you’d play at peak time, but rather at the bookends of a party, either really early on or really late where everyone is a bit spangled and a bit more open-minded.

The Berlin-based producer will also be heading out on a US tour and you should totally check him out.

Moscoman’s ‘Snake & Pygy’ is out now and can be bought here.
