Clarens is the alias of one Ousseynou Cissé, born in Senegal but raised in France his considerable talents were first spotted by Juveniles’ Jean-Sylvain Le Gouicand, who then introduced him to Yuksek.

Since then he’s been steadily releasing music on Yuksek’s Partyfine imprint with the excellent ‘Pray’ in 2014, as well as a couple of spots on Partyfine’s recent compilations.

His latest, ‘Change’, oozes Cissé’s abilities as both a singer and producer – it’s emotionally-charged to the point of melancholia then wrapped up in warm, glowing melodies.

The only real criticism is it’s only two and half minutes long, but that’s like complaining about a cake you really liked but just wasn’t big enough – it’s still a really good cake, and ‘Change’ is still a really good song.
