Our summer love affair with Punks Jump Up’s newly minted Muzik Box label continues with their next release from US-based duo Futurewife & Brace Evans.
Futurewife has been a long time player in the Seattle Disco & House scene, having run PYT Records with his pal Le Youth since 2009, and has released tracks on labels such as Immersjed Audio (UK), & Mortar & Pestle (UK/BE), whilst Brace Evans is on hand to deliver some spellbinding club-ready vocals.
We’ve got the first play of the Tonally remix – who also resides in Seattle too – and his interpretation is a grade-a house banger. Think old-school Felix Da Housecat, with cyborgian vocals, chopped up synths, and a ridiculously brilliant jackin’ groove.
Elsewhere, Polymath (out of Inverness, Scotland) gives ’I Work’ the proper stripped down, big room, 3am rework with a deep, throbbing kicks that spells T-E-C-H-N-O.
Muzik Box is almost certainly our favourite new label of 2015, and if they continue to knock-out releases of this calibre and consistency the sky is quite literally the limit.
Out August 21.
