For those of you who don’t know who Zoot woman are, here’s a quick catchup: Zoot Woman are a British electronic music band consisting of Adam Blake, Johnny Blake and Stuart Price.

The final name on the list should go some way to convincing you quite how important Zoot Woman were. During there 12 year plus existence the band released three critically acclaimed albums, including 2001’s ‘Living In a Magazine‘ which then spawned singles like ‘It’s Automatic‘ which then saw Price and Blake remix the tracks under the infamous Paper Faces moniker.

The latest single, which is the first piece of new material from the group since 2009’s ‘Things Are What They Used to Be‘, is a bit different to the band’s more melodic output. In fact the new single shares quite a bit with Price’s recent work with The Pet Shop Boys, but still retains his famous raspy synth design, and the Blake’s unique vocal range.

Zoot Woman have a new album ‘Star Climbing’ in the works which is expected to be out next year.

The single ‘The Stars Are Bright’ is out now via the band’s own imprint ZWR.

Now if we could just have some Paper Face remixes then the world would be a much better place.
