Two of 2012’s big winners, Lindstrøm & Todd Terje, are starting 2013 off with a bang with a new single ‘Lanzarote’ which is out on Terje’s Olsen label today.

It’s the usual combination of space disco and high-flying electro. But it also houses within it what might well have one of the greatest hooks of 2013 so far.

This is a certified hands-in-the-air disco winner.

The duo have recently explained the track in a Resident Advisor interview where the duo talk about their new live show: “Lanzarote” started about two years ago during a rehearsal for an Oslo gig with the two of us plus diskJokke playing live. It was just a few chords and a beat, but we quite liked that ’80s way of doing it; not being afraid of the major chords. Don’t let the major scare you. We used Hans-Peter’s Linn Drum on it, so the beat sounds quite authentic. Our mastering engineer complained about the lack of sub frequencies. We hit him.”

Out now.
