It’s been a while since we post anything from young French producer NEUS, well that ends today as he seems to have moved away from making dubstep and back to good ol’ fashioned French electro, which is just fine with us.
His latest offering, ‘Turn It Up’, sees the French producer go for a sound that screams theatre and grandeur. Sure, there are occasional wobbles into “bro” music, but on the whole it’s well thought-out and intelligently put together. We’ve always said NEUS has what it takes to go far, and from the sound of ‘Turn It Up’ it seems he finally knows where he’s going.
The lead track ‘Turn It Up’ is prime example of this new sense of direction – instead of being one-dimensional, it’s complex with each component paired together with a polar opposite; ‘step growls are tempered with exquisite strings; drops are used sparingly and intelligently. Overall it’s significant improvement over his last couple of releases. Check out a few of our favourites and listen to the whole EP here.
