This week the internet has been awash with rumours that Daft Punk’s next album could be out as soon as June. The rumour came from an unlikely source: 71-year-old oscar-winning songwriter Paul Williams who told a Hollywood reporter that the new album could be released within three months.
Well, according to sources close to the robots (apparently that’s Pitchfork) it’s not true. There will be no new album in June – but they didn’t say it wouldn’t be July or September.
Moral of the story? Don’t believe pensioners, especially if they’re promoting their own documentary.
