Listen to Charlotte Gainsbourg’s Sebastian-produced new single, ‘Deadly Valentine’

Having recently unveiled a collaboration with Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo last week, Charlotte Gainsbourg has today unveiled her new album’s first proper single, ‘Deadly Valentine’.

Produced by Ed Banger Records’ SebastiAn, the new track sees Gainsbourg deliver a heartfelt, swirling French pop song wrapped around a low-slung disco beat courtesy of SebastiAn.

The track’s accompanying visuals sees Gainsbourg joining forces with Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes for a self-directed video.

“This song mixes wedding vows with an offbeat tone,” explains Gainsbourg in the press release. “I wanted to express the idea of a lifetime engagement; a couple running to church, from childhood to old age, a lifetime path. I asked my friend Dev Hynes if he would play my partner, and he very graciously agreed. It was fun finding our younger and older selves!”

Gainsbourg’s new album ‘Rest’ will be release in November and features Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, Owen Pallett, Connan Mockasin, and others.
