DAF are a legendary German electro-punk band that were pretty big during the 70s and 80s (ask your parents if your don’t believe us), this year they are celebrating their 30th anniversary with a rather swanky box set of some of their music.

Whilst they might not be the most relevant act anymore, their impact on electronic music shouldn’t be under estimated, if you ask a lot of techno and electro producers almost all of them will credit the German group as a major influence.

The DAF boxset will include four albums from “the godfathers of techno” which were released between 1980 and 1982, including ‘Die kleinen und die Bösen’, ‘Alles ist Gut’, ‘Gold und Liebe’ and ‘Für immer’ — and there’s also two never before heard tracks, which we’d imagine is quite an exciting prospect if you’re a DAF completion-ist.

Anyway, the anthology boxset is out this month (September 29 to be precise) and with it there’s a rather excellent Boys Noize remix that’s well worth you’re time and effort that’s been made especially for the boxset’s release.

For the remix of ‘Als Wärs Das Letzte Mal’, Alex Ridha has taken the unusual step of replaying the track’s parts on the same synth as the band used and has created a new version that cat only really be described as a copper-bottomed banger.

You can pre-order the boxset here.
