Stream Purple Disco Machine’s Stripped Back Remix of Heartland’s ‘Heartland’

Heartland is the latest signee to Sister Bliss’ New York imprint Junk Dog Records, and his story from student to Todd Terry’s old flat is an interesting one.

Whilst walking the Appalachian Mountain Trail, he meets the itinerant poet/preacher Marybelle Connor, who he travels with and records.

After returning to New York (and Todd Terry’s old flat), he furnishes his esoteric recordings with music, and the result is ‘Heartland’.

And that’s when German DJ and producer Purple Disco Machine steps in, he’s remixed ‘Heartland’ into a stripped back disco-house number, focusing on the originals’s percussive nature for a 7-minute rework that twists and turns in the all the right places.

Out July 24
