Drones are the latest must-have boys toy at the moment, and one Californian tech firm thinks combining drone technology with selfies is going to be the next big thing.

Say hello to Lily, a full automated selfie drone that will follow you around and take pictures and videos of your boring work-a-day lives.

The way it works is quite clever though, you place a tracking beacon on your person, and the drone follows it, it’s capable of tracking a target at 25mph, at an altitude of 15 metres, and is water proof incase you need make an emergency landing on a lake or a really big puddle.

You can pre-order Lily today for $499 USD. After pre-sales are over, Lily will be priced at $999 plus applicable taxes and shipping.

We can just picture it now, hundreds of Lily selfie drones crashing into each other at this summer’s music festivals.

We for one can’t wait.
