Bjork And FKA Twigs Confirmed To Play Manchester International Festival

The Manchester International Festival (MIF) returns with summer with performances from Bjork and FKA Twigs it has been confirmed today.

The biennial event will take place between July 2-19 and will see some 250,000 visitors watching dozens of specially curated performances from some of the world’s biggest performers.

Past performers have included Sir Kenneth Branagh, Snoop Dogg, Massive Attack, Bjork and Damon Albarn.

Bjork famously debuted her Biophilia live show at the festival four years ago and this year will see Icelandic singer return for her first European show since the release of her new album ‘Vulnicura’. Bjork is set to play for one night only at Manchester’s Castlefield arena.

FKA twigs has been given a seven day residency where she is set to create seven short films. Audiences in small groups will then be invited into the studio during the day to encounter and observe the process as it unfolds.

Elsewhere, The Warehouse Project has been invited to curate two nights of live music and DJs celebrating 10 year’s of music at Mayfield Depot.

The two days are billed as “from young pretenders to regular fixtures, two special nights of live music and DJs to mark ten years in the city for Manchester International Festival and The Warehouse Project.
