Powerful. That’s the best way to describe Maxxi Soundsystem’s brand of house music. His latest single, on Maceo Plex’s Ellum label, ‘Stella’s Way’, sees the UK producer on fine form combining a stunning vocal, expertly crafted percussion and his famed bass chords.

There’s also nods to acid house and secondly, and more interestingly, a slightly more progressive timbre to the mix with plenty of rustic low-ends sat against glassy synths for maximum impact.

Maxxi Soundsystem hasn’t put a foot wrong all year, and ‘Stella’s Way’ firmly cements his position as one of the most exciting house talents of 2012.
