There’s a bit of buzz flying around the blogoshere recently around the identity of a an electro pop duo Monarchy – the current rumour is one of them might well be Stuart Price.

If you haven’t even heard of him, he used to DJ as Jacque Lu Cont, make music as Le Rhythm Digitale and remix under the name of Thin White Duke. And on top of that he took hiatus from dance music to produce Madonna’s last album and became her keyboardist.

All we really know is they’re a electro pop duo from London and have requested to keep their names secret.

Having done a bit of digging it would seem a safe bet that Mr Price has something to do with it, would seem to have his style all over it. According to sources close to the band we will know soon. Whenever that is then.

Anyway we have the Kris Menace remix of The Pheonix Alive – do yourself a favour and listen to it on some decent speakers. Makes all the difference.

It starts of quite pleasant with a nice vocal, but then Menace adds his usually blend of rocking synths, halfway through it becomes a completely different beast entirely. Alex Metric said on twitter he thought it was the “Best track of 2010” so far.

Judge for yourself.
