We’ve been raving about the new collaboration between Rex The Dog and Kris Menace, well we say “new” apparently the music was made last year.
In a world where collaborations like Snoop Dogg and Boys Noize are apparently a good idea – it’s actually nice to see some collaborations that do work – and Rex The Dog’s new collaboration with his new BFF Kris Menace is something that actually works. And works really well.
Kris Menace is the type of producer that manages to straddle commercial success with underground sensibilities – he’s like a musical badger. An underground entity, that doesn’t mind going outside to catch some rays and see what’s popping.
Kris Menace’s french protege Douze had a very successful 2009 when he helped Mr Menace co-write several key tracks on Kris’ acclaimed “Idiosyncrasies” album including the techno anthem “Scaler”, the sultry “Challenger” and the more downtempo “Sensuality”. In 2010 Douze once again joined forces with Kris to write and produce the track “Lockhead”, which was picked up and re-edited by Steve Angello for his own Size imprint.
You may have come across Peugeot’s new television advert (if not see below) it features a great track from young Parisian Yuksek called ‘Tonight’.
