Northern Irish disco upstart Figure of 8 is back with a new EP and the a-side is quite unlike anything we’ve heard before. It’s a combination of 80’s retro synth pop paired with a folksy vocal. It’s probably shouldn’t work, but the zoned-out synths and vocal actually sit really well together.

You’ve got a range of remixes, with our favourite coming from French duo Penelopes who inject some shiny disco into the melting pot. They turn it into a driving piece of fun disco, which ends up sounding like a combination of the Commitments and the Droids.
