While compelling new talent has been a bit thin on the ground this year one shining light has been Turkish up-start Ulas Koca, aka Surrender!. He’s gained support from a host of a-list DJs, made it into the Top 10 of Beatport’s indie dance chart and is about to release his self-titled debut album on October 14 via London label La bombe.

The album is a tour-de-force of classic drum-machined house, vintage European soundtrack obscurity and feel good nu-disco – the album features the talents of highly-vaunted Oakland songbird Jhameel (recently profiled as the Guardian’s Band of the Day) and Sharooz.

In cased you missed it check out our interview with Ulas where we pick his brain about dance music, production and life in Turkey.
