Berlin-based producer Matiryaloka, aka Malte Andrae, is preparing to release new EP ‘Drama Disc’ at the end of this month.

Today, he’s unveiling one of the EP’s tracks, ‘Compromised’, which features vocals from fellow rising star Nashire Cole.

‘Compromised’ sees Andrae weaves a fuzzy, lo-fi synths with distant kicks for a track that tries and blends techno with pop sensibilities – and you know what, he just about pulls it off.

It does go a bit big-room at the halfway point thank to Cole’s booming vocals, but at least it delivers as a cut that’s both energetic and contemplative, which is often a tricky balancing act. Granted you probably won’t be hearing in Berghain anytime soon – but it’s a clever fusion of tech-pop that’s well worth your time.
