Apparently, Disney approached Norwegian duo Röyksopp to create some music for Star Wars – and it sounds bloody amazing.

Now, the track above did not feature in The Force Awakens – so what’s it for?

Nobody really knows. Apparently Svein Berge told the crowd at Oslo’s Spektrum that Disney had approached the duo for some “Star Wars themed music” before blowing the roof off with this punchy slice of galactic-tinged electro.

It could well be from a forthcoming remixes album (shudders) – we all know how much Disney likes to milk their films, and the same treatment was afforded to Tron’s soundtrack (also a Disney film) with the rather terrible remixes package of Daft Punk’s Tron soundtrack.

Anyway, there are no details on when, or if, the track will appear officially – but from just this short video we’re very excited to hear more.
