BBC Worldwide Productions France Making Daft Punk Documentary For Canal+

BBC Worldwide Productions France has been commissioned by French television network Canal+ to make a one-hour documentary about iconic French duo Daft Punk.

Patrice Gellé, executive producer of documentaries at BBC Worldwide Productions France, said: “We are happy to produce the first independent movie on the iconic group Daft Punk driven by the creative ambition of BBC Worldwide’s artistic team and the funds of significant international partners.”

The documentary promises a candid look at Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo’s 20-year career, which has spanned 4 studio albums, 12 million albums sales and six Grammy Awards.

The film is set to air on Canal+ in 2015 and is being written and directed by Hervé Martin Delpierre and co-written by Marina Rozenman.

In other Daft Punk news, a poster has been spotted in Paris seemingly advertising the duo’s ‘Give Life Back To Music‘.

Which, depending who you believe, means a new tour or a remix album – but far more likely is Columbia France had some money leftover in their marketing budget.

Let’s just pray it’s not the latter.
