We first posted about Irish Steph in 2010, 4-years later and the French producer is about to release his most accomplished single to date via Italian label La Valigetta.

Steph has always had a penchant for bustling electro, but with ‘Breathe‘ you’ve actually got a clever piece of sultry electro pop. There are, of course, glimpses of his electro past with fluttering vocoders nestled under glass-y chords and crooning pads. But truth be told it’s actually quite a departure for the Frenchman – but a welcome one.

Alongside the single you have remixes from a host of young bucks. First of all you have Louis La Roche, who flips ‘Breathe‘ into a light-hearted slice of 80s italo pop, using the both vocals to whip it up into a smouldering groove – it’s really quite good.

Elsewhere Ali Jamieson goes leftfield bleep, with the resulting remixing falling somewhere between Rex The Dog and Mylo, which says it all really.

Joao Ceser, goes turbo acid. His remix is certainly the dark horse of the release, fans of Avery will almost certainly enjoy its acidic disposition.

Bad Life’s Blatta & Inesha look to the dark side with full fat techno remix – you have been warned. And finally, Stephane Deschezaux finishes off the release with a cosmic funk reimagining.
