We’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for Kevin McKay’s ‘Body Talk’; a fevered piece of house that managed to sound energetic but never cheesy.
Well, long-time friend and producer man Grum is on-hand to give Kevin’s original a fresh spin for the new Glasgow Underground summer compilation.
The leeds-based producer turns what was a fairly bright piece of house into a throbbing bass-riden delight, it has everything: a melody-driven bassline, splices of the original’s vocal but slowed to stroll and then a never-ending build for the final pay-off.
If Grum’s new album is anything like this, then all those disco-naysayers from a few months back are going to look quite the fools.
Out now.
