The Plump DJs’ long and illustrious career has spanned well over 15 years, as early pioneers of breakbeat the duo has released 4 widely successful albums, countless mix compilations and have remixed everyone from Orbital to Fatboy Slim.

Fast forward to 2011 and the duo have left their long-time label Finger Lickin’ to go it alone with their own label, Grand Hotel. It was an astute move from the duo as breaks isn’t exactly pulling in the crowds like it once did and it gave the duo the perfect opportunity to reinvent themselves.

Thankfully, they aren’t making techno or deep house, but a combination of high-energy electro set against their ubiquitous broken beats. Their latest banger ‘Hammerhouse’ sounds as if the duo has finally reconciled their previous sound with something that’s a lot more forward thinking and current.
