Ali Jamieson is a electronic producer from London, who is part of the La Bombe and Heavy Disco family – he’s had few releases out over the years, but, to be honest, we’ve never heard any of them. So we listened to his new EP ‘Four Thirty’ with an open-mind and we’re glad to report it’s pretty damn good.
‘Forty Thirty’ is a electronic funk track at heart, but with a healthy dollop of forward thinking synth work to give it a modern twist with chip tune riffs complementing the live bass. It’s complex, like a Siriusmo track, yet still doesn’t stray too far from the main hook, which really comes into it’s own when the bass line eventually does drop.
The EP comes with a plethora of quality remixes from italian deep discovery 5eya, DFA & !K7’s coveted remixer Holmes Price (which is our favourite), MofoHifi’s Alizzz and San Francisco’s young talent DATA/DEBT.
