We’ve been impressed with the Penelopes remixing credentials lately, this must the third remix in as many weeks and they all follow the same formula: pick a reasonably obscure band, and take it to the dancefloor.
This time they remixed another obscure band The Chevin who are from Leeds and have remixed their song ‘Champion’ which came in October 2011.
It’s as you’d expect; warm, cosy synth-pop with French electronic edge. You can definitely see why Axel and Vincent were keen to remix the song as the vocals are just the kind of low-key, yet anthem-y vocals you’d find on a Penlopes track. Especially is cool the glitchy breakdown towards the middle where the Penelopes are just showing off a bit.
