Are far as guilty pleasures go Room8’s new single ‘Vision of You’, taken from their forthcoming album ‘Transduction’, is about as guilty as you can get, times a thousand.

It has everything for you’d expect for piece of high-energy gay pop; 80’s nostalgia; a support cast from Moroder’s guitar arranger to M83’s saxophonist Ian Young; and artwork by the Zonders. It many ways it was destined to be a success from the off.

Sure it cheesy as hell, but some times it’s nice to be transported back to the 80’s where there was no internet, Ed Sheeran was still just a lonely ginger baby and Vanilla Ice was gangster. How things have changed.

File under: Never forget.
