Plastic Plates is finally making his Kitsune debut on today with a new three-track EP, featuring a couple of classics and one brand-new track.
The a-side is ‘Things I Don’t Know I Loved’ and is an assured piece of uplifting disco pop with vocals from Simon Lord. It’s positively brimming with lush piano lines, plump basslines and a vocal that grows on you after each listen. It’s the perfect September song; not too showy, loud or over-the-top; but considered and perfectly crafted.
Check out the b-sides ‘Toys’ and ‘More Than Love’ which were the tracks that put Plastic Plates on the map. ‘Toys’ is a textured disco song that blends the depth of italo, with light and airy keys of disco to create a future disco classic.
‘More Than Love’ is probably our favourite of the three; it’s a combination of atmospheric italo, organic disco and shows off why the LA Producer is certainly one to watch in 2012 and beyond.
Out now.
