We’ve been getting a load of emails about a new Australian band called Clubfeet, having ignored them for about a week, we started see names we do care about; RAC, C90’s and Dimitri From Paris – so we clicked the link and we’re greeted with a tasty selection of melancholic disco numbers for a band that sounds a lot like Coupons and Gemini Club.
C90’s, London’s up-and-coming disco duo, respect the indie sensibilities, but cleverly counter them with glistening melodies, disco percussion, muddier baselines. More from them soon.
RAC adds a thick layer of analog melodies, keeps the vocals pretty much intact and backs the whole track with some cleverly arranged keyed-up percussion and the unmistakable scent of summertime optimism – for us it’s probably pick of the bunch.
Last but not least, Dimitri From Paris, does what he does best, dubs it down, adds a club edge and sends it packing as a restraint piece French club chic.
