We’ve loved everything My Dear has released so far. If you’re not familiar with the Parisian electro-pop duo, well, pay attention. My Dear are Romain Seo (Raw Man) and his wife Blanche Seo.
Raw Man for those of you who don’t know was an important figure in the French house scene alongside Guy-man de Homem Christo’s brother Paul as French house duo Buffalo Bunch. If you’ve never heard any Buffalo Bunch before you should totally check them out.
Anyway, back to My Dear. Their first track, which we adored, was 2014’s ‘Standing In This Dream’ which sounded like a Kavinsky love song featuring Blanche’s stunning vocals. There was even a video which was shot in 8 and 16mm by Daft Arts (Daft Punk’s production company) and it featured Seychelle Gabriel — again if you’ve not seen it, please do check it out below.
Since then, they’ve released their ‘Better Dance’ EP, which featured two more tracks — ‘Better Dance’ and ‘Weekend In Paris’ — which were both inspired by California in the 70s and 80s spliced with a modern French electro twist.
Their latest track, ‘A Day With You’, falls perfectly between their previous works, occupying the space between cinematic, golden-hued electro-pop and sophisticated neon French pop, and the production on track is simply jaw dropping thanks to Raw Man’s production prowess.
We’re not the only one who love My Dear, their latest track has been released by Kitsune on their latest Parisien compilation. And there’s been talk of an album from the duo, too. Hopefully we won’t have to wait much longer to hear it as they’ve teased on their Facebook recently that it’s mastered and largely finished.
