After a series of huge tracks on various different labels — including a Grammy nod for ‘Rinse & Repeat’ — Riton returns to Ed Banger Records with his contribution for forthcoming compilation, ‘Ed Rec 100’.

The British-based DJ and producer has decided to sample Paul McCartney of all people and his leftfield pop oddity ‘Temporary Secretary’.

‘Temporary Secretary’ was originally released back in 1980 as part of McCartney’s solo album ‘McCartney II’ — the original is actually quite a revered track amongst many McCartney aficionados for its oddball aesthetic.

For Riton’s version, it’s very much sampling with respect as Henry Riton takes the original’s frenzied hook, does away with McCartney’s atonal rambling vocals, and creates his own sculptured cut of acid-tinged house.

‘Ed Rec 100’ is out on May 12 via Ed Banger Records.

Be sure to checkout Breakbot’s contribution to the compilation, too.
