Theus Mago is the techno-leaning alter ego of Mexican producer Mateo González, who is responsible for dance music projects such as Bufi and Sonido Fantasma.

Released this week Duro Records, the Mexican producer’s own label which showcases his darker, grittier side with throbbing cuts of atmospheric techno.

Both tracks – ‘Out Of The Blue’ and ‘Wrong Side’ – are cut from the same piece of rubbery cloth; deep, dark and purposeful, González manages to weave textured atmospherics alongside tense, punchy grooves for ‘Out Of The Blue’, whilst he dials it up to 11 with the brain-melting ‘Wrong Side’.
