The excellent Daft Punk documentary, Daft Punk Unchained, is heading for a blu-ray release this Christmas…..in France, and there’s still no sign of a UK release.

The documentary – which was created alongside the BBC and Canal + – is set for release on blu-ray in France on November 24 (today).

Interestingly, the documentary is being shown on planes in both the EU and US according to some redditors, who have watched it on Delta Airlines and KLM in Europe – so if you’re flying on either of those carriers this Christmas keep an eye out on their respective on-demand TV services.

Hopefully it won’t be too long before us mere mortals who don’t speak French will be able to enjoy the documentary that explores Thomas Bangalter’s and Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo’s journey from Paris suburbs to Grammy-wining electronic producers.

The documentary features a host of insightful interviews with the likes of Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Kanye West, Michel Gondry, Paul Williams, Peter Lindbergh, Todd Edwards, Leiji Matsumoto, Tony Gardner, Pedro Winter and Pete Tong.

The documentary’s theme music – which has been created specially for the film – was composed and arranged by Joseph Trapanese, who collaborated with Daft Punk on the duo’s Tron:Legacy score.

Be sure to checkout Le Fan 2.0, a new documentary that focus’ on the world’s biggest Daft Punk fan Djamel.
