Rex The Dog returns with a brand-new EP via Kompakt Records next week – and ‘Sicko’ sees the canine production duo back to his very best.

Apparently, Jake Williams has been busy building his own production equipment, which is heavily used in both tracks, whilst Rex has been doing what dogs do, sleeping we imagine.

The releases a-side ‘Sicko’, sonically, isn’t a million miles away from, say, Boys Noize’s ‘Ich R U’ – namely it’s made of slices of vocals turned into rythms and then set against a snappy percussive backbone. On the face of it it sounds quite simple until you realise that Jake has spent the last 2 years learning electronics to make his RTD-101 sampler which forms the heart of his new modular synthesiser that he used to make the tracks
