Pioneer has finally dumped CDs, in a sign of the times the audio company has announced a new CDJ that forgoes the CD player entirely in favour of a USB only solution.
Dubbed the XDJ-1000, it’s the first in a range of “digitally focused, USB-only, rekordbox-ready players,” according to the company.
Functionality-wise, it’s similar to the their CDJ 2000-Nexus, but instead of a jog-wheel setup for track navigation Pioneer has instead chosen to include a huge full-colour touchscreen with keyboard search.
Check out the promo video below where the deck is put through its paces by Pedestrian in a unique performance on four XDJ-1000s and a DJM-850.
The XDJ-1000 will be available from late November 2014.
