Italian production outfit the Rambla Boys are making their debut on suave disco label Smile Records today, with remixes from Mickey and Rick Shiver.

‘Rock Solid’ probably isn’t what you are expecting as it’s a fusion of 90’s house and disco that seems to be all rage at the moment. Though, it does rise above your average fodder due to the lovely vocal courtesy of Stee Downes, which gives the whole track a soulful vibe.

The standout remix, for us, goes to Mickey who gives the original a proper Belgium work over, as the producer replaces the smooth grooves for something a little more chugging – it never ventures anywhere near what the youth of today would called a “banger” but instead it’s charming, confident and elegant. Rick Shiver goes a similar direction with his doughy interpretation.
