GND Records continue to push their abrasive electro-techno agenda with a new release from Turbo Turbo & S-File. Following hot on the heels of their last release of Paul Chamber’s & Shinichi Osawa’s ‘Singapoure Madness’, TTSF’s ‘Headhunter’ looks to blow your head off once again.
It might be a little one-dimensional at first but as a DJ weapon its already found its way into the CD wallets of some notable DJs including SOULWAX, Crookers, Etienne de Crecy, The Loops of Fury, The Japanese Popstars, Modek and Mustard Pimp.
At the beginning there’s fairly run-of-the-mill vocal amongst the pop & click percussion and offbeat horn stabs. Which as you can imagine can get a bit tedious, but that’s not what were here for. You hit halfway and there’s a really well constructed breakdown that acts a hook, then the track drives to an exhilarating crescendo of synths, drums and madness.
Out September 14.
