Well, it looks as if this weekend’s rumours that Daft Punk have left long-time label Virgin/EMI to sign a new deal Sony/Columbia are true, and there’s even better news as their 4th studio album will be released this May, according to the Guardian.
Finally, it looks as if the robots are actually making their long awaited return. A report from French newspaper Le Parisien reckons the electronic duo have left EMI records and will sign with Sony/Columbia for their forth studio album expected this spring.
Last night Nile Rodgers revealed in a online interview that he was going to be meeting Daft Punk to discuss their 4th studio album, with the two electronic pioneers wanting to experiment with R&B and funk for their next album.
The music industry is changing. This is a fact. The days of artist’s living off the royalties from a physical release from 20 years ago is a thing of the past, whether the you like it or not.
