Two of dance music’s hottest prospects, La Bombe’s Surrender! and Sweden’s Blende, combine to create a piece of fidgety electro-disco that shows off exactly why these two rising stars are ones to watch in 2012.
Blende’s remix shows that he can do a lot more than just edits – he throws down a shuffling indie beat, with a strumming arp’d synth line that’s sole purpose is to create a groove. He then layers an intense palette of raspy synths over the top, while occasionally slapping you across the face with the main bass hook.
It’s fantastically off-the-wall and falls somewhere between the playfulness of Mylo’s theatrical disco and Siriusmo’s more leftfield compositions – with just a pinch of French electro flair.
File under: Thumbs up.
We’ll be speaking to Surrender! in a couple of weeks about his debut album – but until then why not wet your whistle with this sampler of his debut called Surrender!.
