LifeLike, aka Laurent Ash (the man behind the moniker), has decided to turn to Kickstarter to release his highly anticipated forthcoming album, ‘Electronic Dreams’.

Judging by the sampler below, the album is largely finished and features collaborations with the likes of A-trak, Oliver, Chromeo, Electric Youth and more.

With 2 week’s to go, his Kickstarter is currently a quarter of the way to its funding goal of £22,302. And if he doesn’t reach a goal, there’s a good chance he’ll just shelve the album entirely, which would be a massive shame as in recent months everything the legendary Frenchman has released has been straight fire and we have no doubt his long-awaited studio album will deliver the goods.

Speaking about why he thinks Kickstarter is the perfect fit for ‘Electronic Dreams’, Laurent Ash said: “Sometimes when you work with a smaller label, they are overworked and don’t have the influence or financial muscle to really push a release in the right way.

“Or, when you work with a bigger label, you can lose control of the creative process, with your release disappearing into a marketing machine never to be seen again.

“I wanted to make an album that would directly reach the people who love my music, involving them in the process of bringing this project to life.”

From Pledges as small as €1 right up €2,499 — which includes Lifelike composing a track just for you alongside a picture vinyl and host of other goodies — now is your chance to be part of something truly unique and exciting.
