Soundcloud has finally done it. It’s finally launched a subscription service, dubbed Soundcloud Go. So what’s it all about I hear you say? Well, from the looks of it, the app – which is the same app as before apparently – allows you to listen to music offline, a la Spotify, and there’s an expanded library, that’s smaller than Spotify’s or Apple’s but larger than the current free one.

Apart from that, there’s not much else to report apart from the fact it’s only available in the US – you know, the country where Soundcloud wasn’t founded – so us poor Europeans are going to have to wait a bit, and it costs a princely sum of $9.99, which does seem a little pricey for a few extra tracks and offline functionality.

A nice touch is the ability to make all of your current and future likes and playlists available for offline listening – which considering how much we’re paying for data bolts-ons in 2016 will be music to ears of the data frugal out there.

We can’t tell anything more as it’s not available in the UK – so we’ll just have to go off early impressions of a load of Americans who only speak in superlatives.
