There’s no hiding the fact that we think Psychemagik are some of the most exciting producers around at the moment, and one half of the enigmatic duo, Tom Coveney, is striking out on his own with a solo remix of Alex Metric’s ‘ELEV8′, the producer’s first ever solo track under his new alias Thomaas Banks.

Banks’ remix twists and turns on a prickly bed of discombobulating synths and gloopy basslines for an acid-tinged workout that’s the pick of the bunch from the ‘Ammunition Pt4’ remixes package, which also features remixes from Kane West, Cut Snake, Purple Disco Machine and CamelPhat.

Don’t worry though Psychemagik are still very much together – but the duo have confirmed that this year will see both Dan and Tom deliver their own solo work alongside more Psychemagik material, and other side projects too.

Dan is starting a new record label collaboration with the guys from Leng Records called ‘Spacetalk’. The first record on Spacetalk is a 12″ re-release of a super rare and sought after private press 45 by Morrison Kincannon called ‘To See One Eagle Fly’ plus a killer extended remix by Claremont 56 head honcho ‘Mudd’ and the first LP in the series will be a compilation of rare boogie and disco and modern soul compiled by Jeremy From Underground Paris entitled ‘Beauty’. 😀
